BMPC Chamber Singers
BMCS rehearses on Monday evenings, 7:30-9:30, for several performances each season.
The Bryn Mawr Chamber Singers, founded by Jeffrey Brillhart in January 1990, is a chorus of
20-28 singers drawn from the Bryn Mawr
Presbyterian Church Senior Choir and
community at large. Since its debut in
March 1990, the choir has been heard in
performances of Bach cantatas and
motets, a cappella music of all periods,
and contemporary American, French,
British, and German music. In March 1993, BMCS performed for the national convention of the American Choral Director's Association in San Antonio, Texas. Later in that season, BMCS appeared in the Philadelphia Bach Festival with violinist Stanley Ritchie and the Bach Festival Orchestra. In 2002 BMCS was invited to present two concerts for the American Guild of Organists National Convention. In 2005 BMCS gave the world premiere performance of Andrea Clearfield's "The River of God."
